Up until a few weeks ago, Pooky was exclusively breastfed. Well, she kinda still is, I suppose. We started her on some solids, but she has definitely been letting us know that she doesn’t like it. Actually, it wasn’t that bad in the beginning. She would play with the lovely, colorful spoon I bought for her, and I would take advantage of her interest in it by dipping it into the pureed baby food and letting her pop it into her mouth with just a little guidance. The food did occasionally go in, but it also came right back out and dribbled all over the place. With each subsequent feeding, she’s been more resistant. When we try to feed her without her holding onto the spoon, she’ll put up a fight and has also learned to just close her mouth as tightly as possible. Now, she doesn’t even like the pretty spoon anymore because she knows what’s coming.

I’m simply shrugging it off and taking this as a sign that she’s just not ready. I mean, she’s going to eventually eat solids, right? Just not right now.
