I haven’t figured out a great way to give Pooky medicine. The few times we’ve had to do this, she’s either 1. swallowed after a shocked expression on her face or 2. gagged on it with a shocked expression on her face and then thrown up. I’ve learned not to give her medicine right after a feeding.
Here’s a great tip on Parent Hacks for giving toddlers medicine: let them do it themselves with a bendy straw!
My solution - add a straw! This was my solution with our younger son (almost 5), who dislikes the taste/texture of the medicine he has to take daily, even mixed with juice. With the bendy straw, he can put the end well back on the side of his mouth, and so doesn’t have to taste it as much.
