Have you ever tried working at your computer while holding your baby? I have, and it’s not easy. The problem is that Pooky loves to bang away at the keyboard, which is disruptive to the workflow. Luckily, there’s a great way to harness that energy. The other day I downloaded a free application called BabySplat that responds to Pooky’s keyboard slaps in a way she understands: with bright colors and funny sounds. There’s also a similar application for Macs, called AlphaBaby, although we haven’t tried it.
I’m not sure I want to encourage Pooky to spend a lot of time in front of the computer at such a young age; I’m sure she’ll gravitate to it on her own later. In small doses, though, I think it provides her with a fun and interactive introduction to the computer.
Download BabySplat (Windows)
Download AlphaBaby (Mac)
