Get Fit with Baby

Exercise is one of those things I always mean to make time for, but rarely do. With so many roles to juggle (dad, husband, full-time worker, international man of intrigue) and only 24 hours in the day, it’s tough to make physical fitness a high priority. But what to sacrifice? I’ve tried borrowing against my sleep time, but my body pays a steep price the next day at work. I feel like I hardly have any time alone with my wife anymore, so I definitely don’t want to cut into that. So, is the only option to give up time with baby? Not at all. I’ve been thinking about ways to spend time with Pooky while exercising. So far, the best I’ve come up with is to hold her while doing step aerobics. The problem is, she immediately falls asleep and half an hour later we’re both drenched in my sweat. It’s not ideal.

Some folks in Cincinnati had a better idea. They started up a fitness franchise called StrollerFit that involves babies and their moms in exercise. It’s time spent getting in shape and bonding with baby. The program seems targeted specifically towards moms, but I don’t see why dads can’t take the same idea and run with it.

Here’s an article on the franchise on Cincinnati.com.
Here’s the StrollerFit website.
