The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers have never interested me much, but this news story of a real life Power Ranger is quite interesting. 4 year old Stevie Long from Durham, NC chased off some robbers last week when he came charging out at them in his Power Ranger costume. Stevie’s mom, his 5 year old sister, and several others were held at gunpoint in their apartment by two robbers.
But Stevie sneaked out of the room while a robber was pointing a gun at his sister and mother. He emerged a few minutes later dressed in his Mighty Morphin Power Ranger costume and threatened the robbers.
The News and Observer reported Stevie said, “Get away from my family,” as he swung his plastic sword and shouted “yah, yah.”
At that point, the robber, and his accomplice outside the apartment, fled with credit cards, jewelry and some cash.
Stevie said, “I scared the bad guys away.”
I would never encourage a child to do what Stevie did, but I’m glad it worked out for the family.

Wow. I haven’t heard this one yet and I don’t live far from Durham. I guess it was enough to change the robbers train of thought and get them to leave. I’m glad it worked out for the good.
