Scared of Santa

I don’t remember how I reacted around grown-ups who dressed up in costumes, but I do remember my younger siblings were not too fond of their cartoon characters coming to life. We took my niece to the children’s museum when she was about 3 or 4, and we spent the whole time trying to avoid the people dressed up as . . . I can’t even remember, but they were in costumes. You know, I don’t blame these kids; many of those character costumes were never meant to be life-size and taken over by human forms.

And then there’s Santa. It would be interesting (or maybe not so interesting) to view a day in the life of a shopping mall Santa. Seems a bit nightmarish. The LA Times has an album of Scared of Santa photos on their site worth checking out for those memorable faces. In the photo above, it looks like Santa is just as scared.
