One of the things I really look forward to doing with Pooky is playing with her at the playground. It’s one of the perks of having children; you get to experience all the things you loved doing as a kid all over again. When the sun finally shines again here in the Pacific NW, we’ll definitely be heading straight for the swings, slides, and teeter totters (a.k.a. seesaws).
Ahh, the teeter totter. I really loved the teeter totter as a child – even when I was stuck in the air with a much heavier kid was on the other end and afraid of falling off while frightening thoughts of never being able to get back on the ground swam through my head. Those were the especially memorable teeter totter moments. I can’t wait to experience Pooky’s first teeter totter ride with her.

When I came across the TAU Seesaw, a build-your-own teeter totter puzzle from Germany designed by Anna Britz and Jörn Stelzner, it brought a big smile to my face. This SeeSaw comes as a large plywood puzzle that you take apart and put together. The “puzzle” actually looks like the motherboard on the inside of your computer, but that’s the geek in me talking.
It’s an artistic as well as functional play furniture. I love it. Price: 498.50 Euros at Fair-kaeuflich.
