As I recall, the first time I heard about the Diaper Dude Diaper Bag was in connection with Brad Pitt, right as the whole celebrity baby craze seemed to be peaking. I remember seeing the image of a green camouflage shoulder bag on Access Hollywood or Entertainment Tonight or some such show and thinking it would be quite useful if baby and I were in a forest trying to conceal our location. Otherwise, I wasn’t impressed. Months later, when May asked if I wanted to review one, I told her I’d rather not.

Luckily, she didn’t listen to me. The main feature of this bag is that it’s made for dudes (obviously), especially dudes who don’t feel entirely comfortable carrying pink bags with floral patterns around in public. I guess I’m one of those dudes, although I was relieved to see that not all of their bags are made to look hyper-masculine with camouflage. The one we got is brightish orange and gives off more of a hipster vibe. May has been thrilled since this bag arrived since it’s meant I now carry all the baby goodies.

Gender considerations aside, this is an enormously useful diaper bag. It’s got tons of pockets and can fit loads of stuff with room to spare. It’s comfortable to wear for long stretches and even has a handy-dandy cell phone pouch right on the strap. We currently use this pouch to carry May’s cell phone, though, since I’m also charged now with carrying her stuff. Based purely on utility, this is the best diaper bag I’ve seen. I guess Brad Pitt has pretty good taste. Price: $60-112 at Diaper Dude ($65 for the one pictured).
