Peti by Seimi: Furniture that Grows with Baby

Like with clothes, I find that the most comfortable, usable items tend to be the most ugly. It’s one of the more unfortunate mysteries of the cosmos. Rarely do I come across something that manages to be modern, stylish and useful all at once. The Peti, a chic five-in-one piece from the Seimi Baby Collection out of Finland is just such a thing.
It starts out its life as an infant crib/changing table (1-3 months). Once baby can pull herself up, it converts into a proper crib that she can’t climb out of (3-18 months). Next, it becomes a toddler’s bed, with rails in place to keep her from falling out (18 months-2.5 years). After that, it becomes a child’s bed, losing the rails but maintaining a bit of a barrier on each side (2.5-6 years). Finally, it becomes a nifty sofa, suitable for the whole family.
The Peti is made of birch and comes in a variety of color schemes. In each of its stages it uses every single part, so there is no need to store or keep track of them. It’s got everything I could want in a piece of baby furniture; I just wish there was more stuff like it out there. One big hitch, though: I don’t know how much it costs or how to buy it.
